Or, eaten? The only time I went there they were having a running race. I sat down on a bench by the lake and watched, relaxingly... all the sudden a 2+ meter monitor crawled out of the water not 3 meters from me and made its way around to the street and crossed it. Nobody flinched - just kept running. It was my first experience with Thailand's Komodo dragons (water monitors). Then,yesterday I saw one about a meter long crossing the road in front of me. I stopped the motorbike and watched - amazing creatures. They walk like snakes slither - very side to side movement. Scary beasts. I really get into the wildlife here...
